Ulster Hose Company #5 is an all volunteer company with 90 active members.  We provide fire and EMS response to the residents and business within our district.  In 2006 we responded to 1100 alarms.  Currently we have 24 members certified as Emergency Medical Technicians/Certified First Responders. Ulster Hose also supports a dive team which consists of 15 members.

Our district consists mostly of commercial properties with several major highways running through it.  We provide services on the New York State Thruway, State Route 9W, State Route 32, State Route 209 and State Route 28.

Our members train two times a month on such things as vehicle extrications, medical emergencies, structure fires, and various types of water rescues and recoveries.

The department officers consist of a Chief, 3 Assistant Chiefs, 2 Captains and 8 Lieutenants.

Here at Ulster Hose we are constantly training and looking at new techniques and equipment to better serve our residents and business.  We have some of the finest equipment available and pride ourselves on our professionalism and skills.

At our Headquarters we have 2 Engines, 1 Engine Tanker, 1 Tower Ladder, 1 Dive Command Vehicle, 1 EMS Vehicle and a Dive Boat.  At our second station we have 2 Engines, 1 Mini Pumper and a Haz-Mat Trailer.

To provide quick EMS response within our district we also have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer that is used by our EMS personnel to respond directly to the scene of the emergency.  This vehicle carries all the necessary EMS equipment to provide Basic Life Support until other units arrive.
